FDM 3D printing

What’s FDM 3D printing

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a type of 3D printing technology that works by building objects layer by layer using a thermoplastic material that is extruded through a heated nozzle. This process can manufacture objects without a molding process and there for its used for prototyping purposes such as project enclosures, replacement parts, ornaments, mounting brackets and many more.

Surface quality of the 3D print

The surface quality of a 3D print mostly depends on the layer height of the 3D print since your object is made layer by layer in the 3D printing machine. In our 3D printing service, we provide three levels of layer heights to ensure the best quality of the product.

0.20 mm layer height (Standard quality):

0.16 mm layer height (Dynamic quality):

0.12 mm layer height (Super quality):

Print volume

For regular prints

For regular prints we use 3D printers with print volume of 220 mm (L) x 220mm (W) x 240mm (H). These machines can print faster and with best surface quality with less support structures.

For large prints

For regular prints we use 3D printers with print volume of 300 mm (L) x 300mm (W) x 400mm (H). These machines are the largest machines we curretly have and if you need larger prints than this we can print objects as multiple parts and join them together.

Strength of the 3D print

The strength of the products depends on the material you choose and also on the infill density and wall thickness of the print.

Infill percentage

We use 20% infill density for regular 3D prints and if you need higher strength we can increase the infill density up to 100%. Also, note that production cost increases when infill is higher.

Wall thickness

We use 1.2 mm (wall line count 3) for regular 3D prints and if you need higher strength we can increase the wall thickness to 1.6mm (wall line count 4) or higher. Also, note that production cost increases when the wall thickness is higher.
